Can anyone give me an estimate of how long I should expect to see/smell results? Thank you.

For you you you will not clean the mold in order to notice any results.
Dehumidifier will have to help prevent additional mold in order to actually remove the existing mold from growing it will not clean the mold from growing it will only reduce the existing mold from growing it.

you need 3 things in order to have mold :moisture
      :heat
      :dirt/dust
if you take one of theses things away you no longer have mold.the key is to clean the the dirt/dust because once the moisture returns so does the mold.

so what you have to do is clean the mold with bleach while its visible and then de-humidify and then control the humidity and keep it clean.

After 24 hours you are going to notice some difference in the quality of air in that space. The dehumidifier will pull out the moisture - you have to remove the items that have been absorbed with water, e.g., carpet, paneling - and spray a bleach substance to kill any existing mold. Don’t remove the dehumidifier, turn the dial back until it just shuts off - leave it and it will come on automatically if/when the dampness returns. Mold will not just disappear - it has to be eliminated totally. Good luck.
