Excessive water being taken in by dehumidifier in bedroom?

There was a mould issue in the room, everything in the wardrobe would go mouldy. It is on the outside wall which is north facing. My parents got a dehumidifier in the room and are getting about 2-3 litres per day from the room. We have no idea where it’s coming from. What could the issue be?

Thanks!
