I have a dehumidifier in my room, but am trying to grow a sunflower, will this affect it?

I have a potted sunflower in my room, and also a dehumidifier. Will this affect the sunflower or kill it in any way?
Also, How often should i water it and does it need feeding at all other than the soil?
