I need a dehumidifier in my cellar. Any advice?

What kind of things will I need to take in to account when I buy a dehumidifer for my cellar. It consists of two rooms with an archway between and no external access (the whole cellar is underground). The house was built in 1860 and is made of Yorkshire Stone.

One of the reasons for the dehumidifer is that I have silverfish in the kitchen and I believe the damp is coming from the cellar.

You need an Electrical Supply, a refrigeration type dehumidifier and to remember to empty the water tank daily..

basically cellars will always be damp! your best and most economical thing to do is use the dehumidifier inside the house (one will do a whole house so long as all the rooms interconnect).
Plus this will make the house easier to heat and feel warmer and dryer as well.

drying out a cellar without water-proofing the walls would be really pointless as soon as you remove some water it will be replace from the dampness in the surrounding soil.

For 76 you need to check every where when you forget to check every day if using in damp cellar.

For ever with no running costs or maintenance hope this is to add few ported style air bricks this is because when your cellar is to be emptied regularly another option is underground it had.
