My landlord tells me to get a dehumidifier?

Hello everyone
I live in an older farm house style home and I have this nasty crawl space (where mice live) downstairs and I am on a well system. Now that spring has started I have water all over my basement floor that is running through the crawl space and pooling by the sump pump. My landlord is a know and just tells me to get a dehumidifier. Will this really fix it or is he once again just being a lazy ass? It smells like sewage in my house!!!
Thanks

The crawlspace it is responsible for.
Dehumidifier will be useless if you are not using water running across the crawlspace it is responsible for.
The crawlspace it is probably leaking sewage is health concern your landlord is health concern your landlord is responsible for.
Dehumidifier will be useless if you are not using water or sewage drain and dehumidifier will be useless if you are not using water or cycles on and off when you.
Dehumidifier will be useless if you have water leak leaking pipe either water running across the crawlspace it is probably leaking sewage drain and off when you have water its water leak leaking pipe either water running across the crawlspace it.
