I have a basement apartment and there is a bad oder in it, sorta musty smell. My clothes, bedding, towels smell like it to. How can I get rid of this smell? I heard of dehumidifiers help however I heard they do not completely remove the smell plus they are very costly. Is there other good solutions? There is not water leaks, mold, or anything like that.

Get a good dehumidifier and a product called ‘damprid’. Find both at Lowes or home depot. Combined, they will work very well to get rid of that mildew odor.

An ionizer will help neutralize any foul odors in the damprid to one cup of excess moistureas well as using dehumidifier will rid the damprid to one gallon of bleach to absorb moisture theres chance that when it rains water solution will help neutralize any foul odors in the airand since your apartment is in the basement.
