Our dehumidifer is constantly full. We just bought it. Is this normal?

We just plugged it in yesterday and it is running all the time. We’ve emptied it twice so far (it has been completely full both times). Is it supposed to run all the time? The fan runs all the time but I don’t know if the dehumidifer is running all the time. How can I tell? Thank you!
