What size dehumidifier do I need for my basement?

themothermaker asked:

I need to stop condensation from building up in my closed, below ground basement. It seems to be condensing on my domestic water copper piping from my well. I plan on insulating all the copper but also think I need a dehumidifier. The space is closed with concrete floor, cmu walls and is approximatly 700 SF.

What are some ways to cut down condensation inside windows without using a dehumidifier?

bestfriendthemom asked:

I get lots of condensation inside on my windows. After wiping them dry, an hour later they are wet. I don’t want to dry the air out in my house, so what are ways to keep the condensation off the windows without using the dehumidifier?
I don’t use humidifiers in my house and I use the exhaust fans in the kitchen and bath when I cook or shower.

What’s the best way to get surface rust off a table saw top without damaging it?

robvendor asked:

My saw top got rusty due to my dehumidifer being placed too close to it. I moved that, but want to know what to do about the table top. I don’t want to run wood threw it and get it all rust stained.

I live in a very humid climate and have been thinking about buying a 65 pint dehumidifier. I normally keep the a/c thermostat on during the summers at 78.

It looks like the dehumidifier is the way to go. What brand is the best for a basement?

milt13077 asked:

My basement at the widest point is 40′X 33 1/2′. Also I want to mount it above the basment sink so I can run a hose out of the dehumidifier and into the sink.

Would a dehumidifier help with a mold problem?

theloniouszen asked:

We have a rather bad mold problem and live in a humid area of the country. Our windows are always covered in moisture unless the sun comes out and dries them off. We get mold in the corners of the ceiling adjancent to the outside. Would a dehumidifier help fix this? How much does one cost?

Will a regular dehumidifier help rid my crawlspace of water and moisture left over from a leaky pipe?

projoe1979 asked:

I had a pipe leak under my house for a while before I noticed it. After the leak has been fixed I know there’s gonna be some water and excess moisture left over. My wife suggested putting a box fan down there and let it circulate the air to help dry it, but I was thinking of setting a regular dehumidifier (not anything too high end) down there. I don’t have a fan that would fit or a dehumidifier, so I’d have to buy either. Which is the better option?
