What size dehumidifier do I need?

summerset asked:

I am planning on attaching a hose to a dehumidifier so the water can go directly to the drain in the floor. Do I have to get a 50 gallon one and pay more money for an 1100 sq. ft. basement? I am thinking gallon means tank size and I should be able to get a small one as long as it sucks the water out of the air. Right?

Dehumidifiers isnt just the air in less time which in turn means it will remove more water from the air in turn means.
