What would be the best way to get the most use out of a portable dehumidifier and portable air conditioners?

We live near a lake in the mid west and are having to use a Soleus Portable dehumidifier (which puts out a lot of hot air by the way) and 2 Portable air conditioners. Sometimes they work and sometimes not. Should we even think of using both in tandem?
