Will dehumidifier prevent rust in damp basement?

I have a damp basement (almost always has a small puddle of water).
I want to store a new expensive bike down there as it’s the most secure place for it - but I don’t want it to rust away (has a steel frame).
I was just wondering if anyone had experience if a dehumidifier running all of the time would be enough to prevent any problems with the bike?
